1. You’ve had a remarkable career path—from Wall Street to luxury real estate to global TV. Can you introduce yourself and share how Passport Properties came to life?
Straight out of college, I started on Wall Street, where I spent two decades navigating fast-paced markets, high-stakes deals, and advising ultra-high-net-worth clients on building and preserving their wealth. It taught me a lot—about the power of relationships, the art of negotiation, and the value of trusting your instincts.
When I transitioned into luxury real estate, I brought that same mindset and energy. I love advising clients on buying and selling trophy properties, which ultimately led me to create Passport Properties. I’ve always been passionate about history, architecture, and travel. I don’t see homes as just brick and mortar—I see them as lifelong story creators for families.
Passport Properties was born from that curiosity. I didn’t just want to sell properties—I wanted to tell the stories behind them. This show isn’t about square footage and price tags. It’s about culture, heritage, craftsmanship, and the people who bring these homes to life. I wanted to create a series that views real estate through a global, human lens. It’s been a long time in the making, but I’m so proud of what we’ve built—and I genuinely believe this is the future of real estate television.

2. What would you say has been your biggest professional achievement so far?
Launching Passport Properties and signing a global distribution deal. It’s not just a personal milestone—it validates everything we’ve worked for. This series was independently developed, self-funded, and built from the ground up with a clear creative vision. Earning the backing and confidence of a global distributor proves there’s real appetite for this kind of storytelling.
I’ve had big wins in my career—from record-breaking real estate deals to success on Wall Street and hosting shows and podcasts in the past—but Passport Properties feels different. It’s the most personal project I’ve ever done. It brings together everything I care about: real estate, travel, history, people, and culture. To have it premiering at MIPCOM in Cannes, with media buzz already building, is incredibly exciting. It’s a win for real estate storytelling done right.

3. How is Passport Properties different from other real estate or reality shows we’ve seen before?
A lot of real estate shows focus on flashy cars, commissions, and scripted drama. That’s not our vibe. Passport Properties is deeper. We’re focused on culture, connection, and architecture that tells a story.
Being called “The Anthony Bourdain of Real Estate” is humbling—though we never aimed for that comparison, it happened organically. Each episode takes you to a different part of the world—from Lisbon to Marrakesh, Florence to London—and we explore not just the homes, but the people, the food, the history, and the rhythm of each place.
Alongside top-tier local real estate agents, I meet artisans, chefs, historians, property owners, and have spontaneous encounters with locals. This isn’t scripted TV—these are real conversations. I want to share the heartbeat I feel in every destination. It’s immersive, cinematic, and grounded. We shot nine episodes across Europe and North Africa, and every location offered something entirely unique. That’s what sets us apart. We’re redefining what real estate TV can be.

4. Coming from a finance background, how do you see the luxury real estate industry evolving over the next 5–10 years?
Luxury real estate is no longer just about location or square footage—it’s about lifestyle, legacy, and story. I love that today’s buyers are exploring properties that reflect a deeper sense of place and personal identity. Families are more informed, more conscious, and more globally connected.
From my finance background, I can also tell you: global wealth is becoming more mobile, and people are investing with emotion. Storytelling will play a massive role in this evolution. Buyers want to understand the history of a home, the culture of the neighborhood, and how that property fits into their journey. Passport Properties taps into that—it’s not about flipping homes; it’s about uncovering meaning and experience.
I see the future of real estate as global, intimate, and culturally aware. The most valuable asset isn’t just the land—it’s the life you can build there.

5. What do you find most exciting about your job right now?
Whether I’m closing a major real estate deal or filming in a riad in Morocco, a vineyard in Provence, or a masseria in Puglia, I get to meet incredible people and hear stories that shift my perspective. That’s what drives me.
In real estate, every client is different. No two deals are the same. You need to listen, adapt, negotiate, and earn trust. In television, it’s the same skill set—but on a global stage. We’re unearthing stories that resonate far beyond property lines.
I’m excited about the opportunity to change how people think about homes and the world. It’s about connection and showing viewers that real estate is tied to culture, craftsmanship, and community. And the fact that I get to be at the center of it, doing what I love, in the most authentic way—that’s the dream.

6. What advice do you have for our readers interested in high-end property?
What continues to drive the luxury market — especially at the ultra-high-net-worth level — is lifestyle. Trophy assets still sell, but today’s buyers want more than square footage and finishes. They’re seeking cultural connection, privacy, and access to exceptional experiences. That’s why we’re seeing sustained interest in places like the South of France, the Amalfi Coast, Lisbon, and even emerging destinations like Puglia or parts of Croatia. In the U.S., South Florida remains incredibly strong. Tax friendly, welcoming to buyer from all over the world and incredible weather all winter long.
The best-performing properties? Those that feel authentic to their surroundings — homes with architectural integrity, a story behind them, or proximity to nature, gastronomy, or culture. Buyers aren’t just looking for homes anymore. They’re looking for meaning. That’s what sells.

7. What does the future look like for Billy Nash? Where do you want this journey to take you next?
The truth is—I’m just getting started. Passport Properties Season 1 is the foundation, but I see it evolving into something much bigger. More seasons. More regions. More stories. I’d love to take the show to Asia, South America, and beyond—there are so many rich narratives to discover.
Beyond the series, I see opportunities to grow the Passport Properties brand in ways that connect people through travel, architecture, and cultural experiences. I loved my time on Wall Street—it shaped the foundation of who I am today. It taught me discipline, instinct, and focus.
I’ve built a career by trusting my gut, staying loyal to my clients, working hard, and staying curious. This next chapter is about sharing that energy with a global audience. If I can inspire people to see the world—and the meaning of “home”—in a new way, then I’ve done my job.
