The 10th Edition of the Knight Frank Wealth Report, published earlier this month, reveals property remains the top investment choice for Uber-High-Net-Worth-Individuals (UHNWI). This trend is expected to continue…
According to the report, the elite’s allocation of assets to primary residences and second home investments has increased by 54% over the past 10 years and a staggering 29 percent of respondents are considering buying an additional residential property over the next 12 months.
To help our readers with their property portfolio, we have taken a look at some properties from around the globe that would make an attractive investment:
Kim Goddard, Director of Sales at Royal Westmoreland sees demand growing for properties priced between $1.5m to $2.5m: “This market was dead a few years ago but it’s where we are seeing most demand now and predict this will continue next year. Typically buyers in this price bracket are aged in their late forties to early fifties, the children are out of the house and typically they are looking at succession planning in their business/profession, whereas buyers of our larger villas in the $3m plus market will be approaching retirement and have already sold their business.”
Jeanie Mahon from Knight Frank’s Barbados office adds: “We are anticipating a good season as demand for property has increased in 2015 and we predict this will continue this year, especially amongst the British who account for the majority of our international sales. The $10m plus market continues to prove steady and there are no signs of this abating. Prices will stay where they are and grow for premium properties looking forward.”
A property similar in style and size to the one shown can be built for US$5,715,000 (approx. £3.6million). The villa shown is a 6,700sqft sized home featuring clean lines, slick interiors, large terraces and enormous expanses of glass to maximise the views.
Similar custom-designed villas can be built on numerous fairway lots on the estate such as Jasmine Ridge. Lot prices vary according to the location from US$1million to US$2,100,000. Duty-free furniture packages are available to all first time owners.
